September 28th

Hey, I didn't do too bad yesterday. For dinner I had two biscuits (380), with butter and jelly (150). And a small piece of bacon (70). My total for yesterday: 1,757. Whew!! Just barely made it.

Today will be the same as the last few days: I had another waffle and oj breakfast. (370). I'm gonna try to drink some C2 this morning (70) and save some calories. And eat my banana.

I will be glad to go to the store and get some milk, tomorrow. I am really wasting calories on this breakfast.

For lunch I had Lean Cuisine (240), half a banana (50), more Smarties (10). Total so far today: 740, Left: 1,060.

September 27th

With my McD's dinner (Big Mac 560 & Small Fries 250) , I had a calorie total of 1,650 I also had some more fruit before bedtime, and add in about 10 calories for the Smarties, I still believe I made under my goal of 1,800 calories.

I'm still having some hunger issues, (hince the Smarties), but I think I am starting to get a handle on it. I'm including a lot more fruit into my meals.

Today might be difficult. There is a webcast, so we are ordering lunch in. I'm thinking about sticking to just California Rolls for lunch. I'm not sure of the calorie content of sushi, but I'm thinking it can't be too bad, and at least I am getting fresh fish, which is good for you.

I'm having a pretty typical day with Waffles & OJ (370) and C2 Coke (70). A banana (100).

Lunch was not too good. Chinese food today. I guesstimated the calories of the Egg Roll (300), Chicken in Garlilc Sauce (225) and Fried Rice (92). I typically eat 1/2 to 1/3 of the chicken and even less of the fried rice. But my total so far is pretty high: 1157, which leaves me only 643 for the rest of the day. That isn't overly bad, but I have a feeling, I will be reaching for sweets in an hour or so.

Sept 26th

Well, I went over yesterday. Had a can of Spagetti-o's (540) and some cheese (110). I was STARVING yesterday afternoon. I should've had my banana. But I didn't darn it. So, the total right there is... 1,870. PLUS I had fruit. A couple of pieces of watermelon. Then, I had some of the fruit smoothie fruit I got from Publix. I thought, hey, pineapples, strawberries, oranges, this is pretty good. Then I read the label. Packed with water and sugar. Sugar!!! Sugar?!?!?! Why the heck would you put sugar in it? Well, won't be buying that again. Sigh!

I had another waffle and oj breakfast. (370). I'm gonna try to drink some C2 this morning (70) and save some calories. And eat my banana.

I've been so hungry since Friday. I'm really starting to get weak. I even feel my stomach starting to growl now, even though I had a big breakfast. I don't get it. I just need to eat more frequently I think, and we'll see how it goes.

For lunch, I had Lean Cuisine, and I"m going to have a miniture Reese's cup for a total of 300 calories. My total so far is 740, leaving me 1060 for dinner. We'll see if I can make it without anything else, but I may have a snack later.

September 25th

Yesterday, after breakfast ate: Slice of Pizza (300?), small piece of cake (300), nibble of fried chicken (200?) and OJ (120)

I will guestimate today's total at around 1,200. I also worked out for 40 minutes yesterday, and walked the mall briefly, and was in the pool.

So far for breakfast I've had waffles with a smat of butter (250) and OJ (120). Also, coke (140)

Lunch: 1/2 quiche (250), salad with Honey Mustard Dressing (240), banana nut muffin (220)

Total so far: 1,220 Left: 580. Need to be careful about dinner!

Today's weigh-in: 184! 2 more lbs gone.

Sept 24th

Well, today started off with Cereal - 150 and Orange Juice 120. It was a hard day, though, but it is the weekend.

For lunch, I had half of a 6" Larry's Big Roast. Don't think I'm gonna find a calorie count for Larry's Deli. LOL!! It had plenty of meat and veggies, but it also had provolone (100 calories) and mayo (103). And for a snack I had grapes (106)

I baked a cake. Had a small chocolate piece (probably 300, it was a half of a serving, plus frosting, I think). I had a salad with dressing (180), and then made Rachel Ray's Meatball Pizza. Lord knows what that is, but I managed to keep it at 1 medium and 1 small slice. (The recipe says 4 servings, and I ate a 4th of the pizza).

So, of the stuff, I can count, I had 1060 calories. Add 300 for the sandwich, and probably 500 for the pizza, Oh, and 100 for the little bit of coke I had. Well, that's 1960. Over my goal for yesterday, AND I didn't have time to exercise. (but did walk a little bit and did house work).

Today, I had a home-made Egg McMuffin (Egg - 75, Muffin - 120, Slice of Cheese - 70) and OJ (120), for a total of 265 for this morning. I'm cleaning house and plan on working out this afternoon after I run to the mall and putz in the pool, too! So, hopefully, I can keep the munchies at bay.

I am a little down that I went over yesterday, but the meal I made was home cooked with fresh ingredients. Same with the Egg Sandwich this morning. It was homemade, no fast food, and I used no oil. I plan on eating some fruit later, and a leftover piece of pizza for lunch.

A Special Post

I wanted to take minute this morning to remember my friend Judy. Judy passed away last nite after a long battle with cancer. Anyone who met Judy was taken in by her bubbly personality. The first time I met her was in Gainesville, where she walked in wearing a Carmen Miranda costume. She had a zest for life and she will sorely be missed. Godspeed my friend....

September 23rd

Well it seems that Smokey Bones does not have nutrional information available. Rather odd in this day in age. I wonder if all the Darden Restaurants are like that. I estimated what I ate from Calorie-Counter.com:

Pulled Pork 200
BBq Chicken 140
Onion Rings 135
Broccoli 20
Orange juice (before bed) 60

I ate half of my meal, just like the experts say. Total calories for yesterday: 1400 (I rounded up to allow for the bbq sauce)

I'm actually finding that I am not eating enough. Several times (and this morning) I have felt hunger pangs. I am going to try harder to eat some healthy snacks throughout the day.

September 22nd

Last Nite:

Rest of Evos sandwich: 285
3 Pizza Rolls: 190
Plus Fruit ????

475 + 747 = 1,222 plus extra for the fruit (1,400???)

I'm splurging a little today

Cereal - 150
C2 Coke - 70
1/2 whole grain bagel from Panera - 170
Reduced Fat Veggie CC - 60
Lean Cuisine - 200
Fun Size M&M's - 108
plus two pieces of watermelon (Thanks Barbara!)

Total - 758 Left - 1042

I traded my full coke for the bagel. YECH! I had some hunger pains on the way in to work this morning, so I knew I had to put something in my stomach. Hopefully I will make it up at lunch.

DAMN that bagel!!! Now I am craving Burger King, but since I don't know what we are doing for dinner tonite, I don't want to blow it. If I hadn't done the bagel, I'd have saved 230 points. I should call DH and see how his appetite is and if he has any dinner plans in mind yet.

YAY! I made it through lunch and no BK!!! But I'm still hungry. May have to get some more chocolate if it doesn't pass soon. But dh said for sure, we'd go out tonite. hmmmm, I've been hearing that all week!!

September 21st

Last nite:
Salad w/ dressing: 180+
1 serving (4 pieces) Crab Rangoon: 190
½ cup chocolate milk: 85
455 + 703 = 1158

Wow!! That’s actually a little low. I wanted to eat some fruit, but I just wasn’t hungry. It seems that after a week and a half, my body is starting to adjust to lesser calories. But I’m saving tonite for hopefully Smokey Bones!
Goal today: NO SNACKING!!!!!

Today:
Special K with Fat free Milk - 150
Can of coke – 140
EVOS Air Fries – 172
EVOS Thai Chicken wrap (1/2) – 285

Total 747 – Left for dinner – 1,053

I downloaded a program that says I need 2,295 calories a day. But if I’m losing weight to subtract 750 calories which is 1,545. I’ve have less than that the last two days. Once I reach 180, I will change my calorie goal from 1,800 to 1,600. I’ll take small steps to get it lower. I need to throw in my workouts too.

DH says he doesn’t feel like going to dinner tonite, so I had lunch at Evos. I ate ½ of my sandwich, but not all of my fries (maybe ¾’s), but I put the whole amount for that instead, since I think I’m a little over on my ½ sandwich. I also had green tea with Splenda (0 Calories!) I also ordered the Thai Trout, but they gave me chicken instead. That’s okay, because the Chicken has less calories.

September 20th

Last nite:
Double Cheeseburger: 460
Small French Fries: 250
½ cup chocolate milk: 85
795 + 655 = 1450

I beat my goal by 350 calories. I had McD’s last nite because DH has been sick and that’s what he wanted. But here’s the deal. I ate about 4 or 5 bites of the burger and was totally satisfied. But I didn’t stop. I could’ve just stopped right there, but I didn’t. The whole “don’t waste food” mantra keeps going through my head and I can’t seem to shut it up. The milk was the same way. The milk was low-fat and the calcium was good for me, but I didn’t need to drink it. I just did it because it was in the fridge and didn’t want it to go bad. This is the one thing I am having the hardest time getting over.

So far today:

Special K with Fat free Milk - 150
Can of coke – 140
Healthy Choice meal – 370*
(*probably less, I didn’t eat the peas and carrots)
Mini Snickers – 43

1097 calories left for dinner.

I am probably going out to lunch today to the new City Café. I don’t know what they have, but if it’s healthy at least, I think I will be okay.

I’m debating about my coke habit. One a day isn’t bad in the grand scheme of things. I wish I could eliminate that one completely, but it has been difficult. I need the caffeine and I detest diet coke with a passion. I thought about bringing in my own diet dr. pepper, but not sure if I can hide it well enough. (Reminds me of the radio commercial where the guy brings in 48 cans, and by mid morning they were all gone.) My other option is tea, but it gets so warm in here, I really can’t stand to drink it. It’s just too darn hot.

UPDATE:
No lunch out today. I’m feeling like a kicked puppy dog today. Logic would tell me to run to the nearest burger stand, but I’m not going to do it. I’m going to be strong. I’ll sit with my buddy at work and hope that she can make me laugh like she always does. Part of me wants to run home and crawl under the covers. But I won’t do it. I’m going to stay here, finish my work and eat my Healthy Choice meal as planned. Today will be a strong test to my willpower.

September 19

Special K with Fat free Milk - 150
Can of coke – 140
Lean Cuisine Pizza – 300 (I subtracted 10 points because a piece fell on the ground)
Can of Lemonade – 5
Mini Junior Mints – 60 (I could not find the calorie value of the Mini Jr. Mints. A full size package is 170 calories, so I divided by 3 and rounded up.)

Total so far today 655
Amount left for today 1,145
I can splurge a little for dinner... J
This is based on 1,800 calories. The normal person needs 2,000 calories.

Today is the first day of my food blog. I’ve been told that the best way to make sure you are controlling your food outtake is by writing it down. So here it is. I started monitoring my food last Sunday (9/10)

I did step on the scale yesterday for the first time. It read 186. This is about 7 lbs less than the 193 that was at Dr. Matthews office on August 8th. I am on my way!!

I only exercised once this weekend, for about 45 minutes on Saturday. On Sunday, I putzed in the pool, but not for very long. (5-10 minutes). Monday, I walked about to the courthouse (about 3 city blocks), and did a mini mall walk, but nothing to write home about. DH has been up sick, so watching videos was out.

Something I learned today: I package of Smarties is only 35 calories. I have 3 packages on my desk for emergency usage.

MINI Goal: 180
Mid-size Goal: 150
Ultimate Goal: 120
